Mukudzei was born in 1983 in Kwekwe, a city in the Midlands of Zimbabwe. He currently resides in Harare, where he received training from Peter Birch and at the National Gallery. Later, he pursued graphic design studies at the Harare Polytechnic.

As a mixed media artist, Mukudzei dedicates himself to exploring his historical and contemporary context. He questions the human condition, identity, and the sense of belonging, especially in an urban environment. Through experimentation with various objects using different mediums, from serigraphy to assemblages, he brings out the Africanness of his creative inquiry by carefully selecting muted earth tones and incorporating the natural elements of his surroundings.
